Lashes for round eyes: do’s and don’ts

What’s the secret to getting a sultry, doe-eyed look? False eyelashes! Makeup artists and beauty fans know that false eyelashes are one of the easiest ways to get a gorgeous, flirty look. And if you’ve ever seen the selection of false eyelashes available, you know there are plenty of eyelash styles to choose from! How can you tell which false eyelashes will work for you? As it turns out, finding the most flattering set of false eyelashes has a lot to do with your eye shape. Determine your Eye Shape now.

Much like knowing the right way to contour and highlight to flatter your face shape, or knowing the right outfit for your body shape, it’s important to know the right style of false eyelashes that will be most beautiful for your eye shape. If you have round eyes, you’re in luck! Girls with round eyes look gorgeous in almost every style of false eyelashes. And even better, girls with round eyes have an easier time both accentuating their eye’s natural shape, and altering and elongating their eyes using false eyelashes.

Criss- Cross Lashes for Round Eyes

Usually the most flattering false lashes for round eyes are those that are both long and voluminous. Especially criss cross styles with the longest hairs in the middle of the strip (like Volume Vixen) will best accentuate and frame a round eye, and will make your eyes look bigger and brighter!

Flared Lashes for Round Eyes

If you are looking for a way to elongate and soften a round eye shape to create a more almond shaped eye, you could try a flared lash style. Flared lashes fan out towards the outer side, have their longest hairs at the corners of the eyes. False eyelashes that are longer on the outer edges will create an illusion that your eyes are longer.
For a more natural-looking way to elongate a round eye, you can also use individual false lashes. Just apply several individual false eyelashes along the lash line on the outer edges of your eye (Going toward your ears!).

But beware! Even though most styles of false eyelashes are flattering to round eye shapes, there are a few styles you might want to steer clear of. Anyone with round eyes should definitely avoid false eyelashes that are too thick or heavy. These can weigh down your eyelid, and make eyes appear smaller—the opposite of what false eyelashes should do!

Another quick tip to keep in mind: Round eyes tend to be shorter in length than almond or oval shaped eyes, so you may have to trim your false eyelashes before applying them for the first time. Always be sure to size the lashes by measuring them up to your eye and trim off any access length (if you need to!).
